Screen Name?
Jasminemoonchild
And what is your real name?
Janet
Where are you from?
Born in Charleston, SC. My father was in the Marine Corp, so growing up we moved around some, but not as much as most people in the military have to. He was mainly stationed in the South (VA, NC, SC). He retired 5 months after I finished high school and retired to Lenoir, NC where my mother is from. So since I've spent more time in Lenoir than anywhere else I usually tell people I'm from Lenoir.
Please tell us a little about yourself (job, hobbies, etc.):
Not much to me really. I'm a real simple southern girl, LOL. Moved back to Lenoir, NC after spending 5 years in Fredericksburg, VA back in August 2007. I wanted to stay in VA, but the cost of living up there was so high that I couldn't afford to stay there any more. Been working through a temp service so I'm still waiting on that temp to hire job to come along, but as of last week I'm now waiting on my next assignment job. Really sucks. My hobbies, as anyone that knows me, all center around music. Whether it's listening to it at home, in the car, or going to shows. 95% of my friends I've met somehow through my love for music. My best friend Joy in VA I met at Jaxx and we became like sisters because we both love LA Guns and music so much. She would join here on the board, but she doesn't spend alot of time online, but I did talk her into myspace. Then again who isn't on there, LOL. I also love doing concert photography. I've been dabbing into that off and on for over 20 years, but have stepped that up a notch when I had to quit "partying like a rockstar" , LOL, due to health reasons. So now instead of getting wasted at shows I focus more on taking pictures. I've noticed a big difference in the quality of my pictures since. I've been lucky enough in the past few years to have my online photo albums linked to websites like Jaxx and Nuno Bettencourt. Got to get pictures of the 69 Eyes 1st US soundcheck. Brian Damage of KIX asked me to e-mail him all the pictures I've ever taken of KIX esp the ones from the 80's taken in NC. Ronnie from KIX asked for the pictures I took of him and Gilby Clark on stage together at Jaxx. And Acey Slade has a copy of one of his Trashlight Vision shows on DVD that I video taped, and has copies of all the pix I've taken of him too. I'm not the greatest photographer, but each picture I take is taken with love. And of course I have my favorites that I enjoy photographing. I've taken more photos of LA Guns than I have any other artist. Next to them, Wednesday 13 and KIX make up a majority of my photo collection, besides a local band here in NC called The Logic. I've been friends with Chad for over 20 years and recently was asked to an official live photographer for the band. I have video footage on youtube of the Logic (channel name jasminemoonchild) if anyone is interested in checking them out. They are a mixture of rock, metal and top 40. They have a huge fan base around here cause they appeal to almost everyone. My videos on youtube are just videos I taped to pull still pictures off of for more control and quality in my picutres. I also have Skid Row, Steven Pearcy, W13 and Type O Negative videos on there.
How/when and why did you get into L.A. Guns?
1988 -
The first time I seen them on Headbanger's Ball. They were a breath of fresh air. I was getting so tired of the typical bands that were being pushed by the record labels. They all seemed to have the pretty blonde haired singer (I'm totally not into blondes , LOL) and the guitarist that seem to want to play every note in all the music scales in every solo as fast as they could. The bands were looking more less like men and more like very professional drag queens, and they all sounded the same too. Then LA Guns came along. No pretty girlie looking blonde singer here. Phil was (and still is) a sexy dark haired singer that looked like a real man not a drag queen. Tracii had the most tasteful solos. You could hear that he could do all the "guitar god" metal solos like everyone else at that time had been doing, but didn't cram them into one solo in every song. They looked and sounded like a real rock band, not that manufactured record label crap at that time. I was so glad when that first album (which I still have on vinyl) came out. And I love them just as much today as I did back then. My love for them has never died.
What is your favourite LAG song/album?
That's a hard one. There's something about each one I like. I love the 1st album cause it was what I had been waiting for in the mist of a boring scene at the time. I love Cocked and Loaded a whole lot too. Tales from the Strip proved that they still had it in them and doing it better than ever. I can't narrow it down to just one. You'll have to cut me some slack on this one.
Now share your favourite L.A. Guns story/memory, please:
This is a hard one too. So many of them. Every show is awesome. From the 1st time seeing them live back in 89, to seeing Kelly with them on stage in LA in January. Hanging out with anyone from here on the board that are at any show I'm at is so much fun. I love everyone here. The guys in the band (past and present members) have been so nice to me through the years too. Esp Phil, he's seen the quiet shy side of me to the crazy drunk chick side, and has always been a sweetheart to me everytime.

What other bands do you like?
Any stories you would like to share? Well everyone knows I'm a huge Wednesday 13 fan. W13 has seen me at my most crazy moments (thanks to Racci, LOL) and has always been a sweetheart to me. He writes catchy hooks and humorous lyrics. He's at his best live when he has 2 guitarist in the band so he doesn't have to play guitar. that's when he can pull out all his cheezy stage props. And being a local artist in my area, I'm so proud of all of his success so far. I love anything that Acey Slade does. I just love Acey period. I can't think of anyone that has met him and could honestly say that they didn't like him. He's just a beautiful person inside and out. I'm a big fan of Joey Jordison. The talent this young man has. My favorite drummer (besides Racci Shay), but he's also a guitarist, songwriter, and producer. When I'm at a Slipknot show, I forget there are 8 other guys on stage, LOL. I like alot other bands and artist for different reasons. Like KIX, Steve is like the ultimate showman and Brian is very under rated as a guitarist. Bang Tango for Joe Leste's vocals. He can sing GnR songs better than Axl himself. And Micheal Thomas is also another under rated guitarist, plus he looks and moves on stage like the ideal rockstar. I love watching him play. Extreme for the harmonies, and Nuno. H.I.M. for Ville's vocals and lyrics. Enuff z nuff for the songwriting, and also cause they remind me so much of the Beatles. Yeah I love the Beatles. Been a fan since I was 5 yrs old. Them and the Monkees were the 1st 2 bands I listened to all the time on my Mickey Mouse record player, LOL. But like I said I like so many bands. You just have to name one, and then I can tell you what I like about them.
What is /are your favourite book(s)?
I don't read alot, too busy with the music thing, watching a movie or a NASCAR race. But from all the books I have read I'd have to say Bram Stoker's Dracula, Anne Rice's Interview with the vampire, and Poppy Z Brite's Lost Souls. Yeah I'm into the vampire thing, LOL.
And which is/are your favourite movie(s)/actor(s)?
Anything with Johnny Depp in it. Kevin Smith movies. Horror movies (esp vampire movies) comedy, and some action films.
Any famous last words?
Have hope. Without hope there is no life.
