Welcome to FAN OF THE MONTH!

Our Fan of the Month for August 2006 - can I say it runs in the family? ;-) As some of you may know, she is the sister of July's FOTM - and she's the one who dragged Jo-Anne to that show where the now legendary "bloody guitar" photo was taken. But, more importantly, she's been a loyal fan of the band for many years and is a regular poster on the message board - definitely a worthy FOTM! So, without further ado: Congrats to Nikkicole! :)

Please tell us a little about yourself (Job, hobbies, etc.):
I'm a wife and a mother. I have 2 adorable future rocker kids and 2 cats.. My 2 yr old daughter sings all of Gypsy Soul and my 5yr old son told his Pre-K teacher that his favorite song is Vampire. I am an elementary Reading, Grammar, and Social Studies teacher. I try to bring music into my lessons whenever possible. I think that if kids can relate school to something as timeless as music they remember it more and it has more meaning for them. My hobbies include: Cooking, Painting, Sculpting, and Music (listening to and concert going)

How did you get into L.A. Guns?
Once upon a time, a long time ago. OK! OK! It was only the mid eighties. I was in the 7 th grade and a friend of mine brought her cassette of the first album to school. After listening to the first few notes of No Mercy, I was totally hooked. I went out and bought my copy on vinyl and it has been a wonderful ride ever since.

What is your favourite song/album?
Oh man there are sooo many, everything is just so amazing and for different reasons. I guess if I had to pick a few I would say: all of Tales ( I love Stacey's playing), Electric Gypsy, Never Enough, Sex Action, Don't call me Crazy, Why Ain't I Bleeding, Beautiful, and soo many others. My favorite cover is Until I get you.

Now tell us your favourite L.A. Guns story/memory, please:
I love all of my La Guns memories. The stories I am most likely to retell are:

1. The Brookhaven Amphitheater Show, After an amazing set Phil arranged for Hazy and I to go onto the bus and hear a preview of Tales. It was amazing to not only hear the new album before its release, but to talk with guys at the same time and hear their comments and opinions on the record, the show and life in general. It was also nice to meet and chat with Dawn. She is great.

2. After the Starland Ballroom show there was a bit of "drama", and Stacey totally impressed me with the way handled the situation. He had every right to get on the bus and not bother with anyone. But instead he stayed outside chatted with the fans, took pictures, and even did an interview with a banana. He proved his rock guitar hero status that night ( as far as I'm concerned).

3. The Continental show. Phil proved his Rock Godliness, by continuing to play in spite of a cut finger and blood dripping all over his guitar and the stage.

What other bands do you like?
I'm a product of the 80's hard rock, metal scene. I love bands like Kix, Hanoi Rocks, Beautiful Creatures, Motley Crue, Skid Row, Whitesnake, etc. As I get older my taste seems to be getting harder I like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and the like much more now than as a youngster. On the other hand growing up with a Punk Rock sister, I was introduced to and acquired a love for bands like The Cure, The Clash, Billy Idol and Adam Ant at very young age. I can remember being the only kid in elementary school with pictures of Billy Idol on my notebooks, while everyone else had Madonna and Michael Jackson. Thanks Jo-Ann!!!

Any famous last words?
THE END!!!
